Compex Systemhaus GmbH ensures Databased Publishing with its standard software solution Compex Commerce

Compex Systemhaus GmbH offers Databased Publishing in the promotion process of its standard software solution Compex Commerce. Integrated external graphical software programs, such as Adobe InDesign® or QuarkXPress®, ensure a cost-efficient internal or external production of flyers, catalogs or price lists.

DBP_Maske_ENThe centralized consolidation of different databases serves to ensure that all output media are up to date. Compex Commerce directly provides the price and article data; the manual entry and the revision of catalog data or flyers thus become superfluous. The improved workflow results in shorter production times. At the same time, the media designers are supported by the software and thus gain more freedom for creativity.

Printout ensured

Compex Commerce provides the latest data, images and advertising texts for the corresponding design templates in the graphical software programs. Information on page grids, including article placement, as well as on prices, tender texts or weight data is provided on a daily basis. For the graphical layout of the data, Compex Commerce also transfers all paths to the used images of the corresponding articles.

Compex Commerce takes into account regional differences in terms of article selection, as well as extra promotions and long-term low prices. Forecasts and simulations regarding the article selection, price and quantity may be integrated into the promotion process.

DBP_Katalog_ENEasy image selection and maintenance

For the graphical layout of the data, Compex Commerce also transfers all paths to the used images of the corresponding articles. The user may then define the angle and the version of the image and decide whether it is a main image. When adding a high-resolution image to the product, it is also possible to produce other image versions of the same image upon request. Besides the product images, Compex Commerce also serves to maintain the large number of logos and to allocate them to the corresponding articles. All brand, manufacturer, test winner and feature logos etc. are saved in a global pool. The articles may refer to the entries of this pool so that the same logo is automatically provided in the layout grid of several articles.

This predefined set of rules allows the allocation of pooled logos to specific article groups. The allocation rules may be defined by different criteria, such as the manufacturer, the brand or the article features.

This allows the software engineers to better estimate and calculate the required test time as early as in the time planning phase. Precise test data and scenarios help to gain performance-relevant insights, which may be taken into account for the codification. This results in less interruptions of the software approval phase due to rework.
